During this process, I learned what makes terraced housing successful: a combination of recognizability, efficiency, and smart repetition. I realized that creating homes that are easy to reproduce doesn’t mean they have to be dull looking, even with a standard system, small design choices can make a big difference. For example, small variations in the façades, materials, and window arrangements can transform a simple row of houses into a visually interesting and modern residential buildng. I also discovered how important it is to balance practicality with aesthetics, ensuring that each home feels comfortable, high-quality, and appealing to its competition. Working within standard dimensions challenged me to think creatively while remaining realistic and functional, which strengthened my understanding of how to design efficiently without compromising on deisgn. This project has given me valuable insight of how thoughtful design decisions can elevate standard housing into something refined, modern, and truly enjoyable to live in.
